Fuseta Island Beach and Barra
In the municipality of Olhao, you can find Fuseta Village which is about 7 kilometers and easily accessible by train or car. From there, you have some of the most dreamy beaches, with:
- Fuseta Beach (No need to take the boat)
- Fusta Island (accessible by ferry which takes about 10/15 minutes)

All those beaches are quite good, but take in consideration that Fuseta Bay Beach does not have any facilities.

Although these beaches/islands are not in Olhao, the ferry makes it very easily accessible and takes hundreds of people daily.

We do suggest having a full day dedicated to those islands if you want to fully enjoy them.

Unfortunately the regular ferry does not operate to Deserta Island(also Known as Barreta Island) from Olhao (only from Faro), therefore you can only take the aqua-taxi which will take about 20 minutes.
Nonetheless, as the name suggests it’s a deserted island/beach with only one restaurant, here you can walk and enjoy the calmess. Needless to say it’s beautifull. Check our Ria Formosa article for more.
